Returning a faulty item to Cash Converters
Anyone here got experience of this? I needed a replacement CD player, and thought, I'll have a look in CC. Bought one for £35, got it home connected it up, played some CDs, but starting with about the 3rd or 4th CD I played, it keeps skipping. It doesn't do it on every CD, so it took me a while to realise it is the player at fault. The CDs are fine as I take care of them.
I bought the player last Monday so it will be a week ago. Unfortunately I didn't buy it in the closest CC to me, so I presume I'll have to go to the branch I bought it from. Fortunately I'm not working tomorrow so it's not too much of an issue to go back to that branch. And I have the receipt.

Anyone else had issues with equipment bought from them and did they get their money back OK? I've noticed CD players don't appear in branches of CCs that often these days, so I'd be after a refund rather than a replacement.

Of course this being westhamonline.net I fully expect to be called a pikey cunt for buying from Cash Converters in the first place. And a dinosaur for still playing CDs🦕

Of course this being a West Ham site you’ve obviously tried the knob wiping thing first.

Risky.

No telling how many knobs have previously been wiped over it before it was dumped on Cash Converts.

"So, Mr dm. Any thoughts on how you picked up this rather virulent and very gay STD?"

"Well, doc, I was trying to fix my CD player, like..."

Have you tried a Disc cleaner?

Mike Oxsaw. I've just tried my favourite Mostly Autumn CD. not a mark or blemish on it. And it got about 30 seconds into Something in Between before skipping.
I guess I've learnt my lesson about buying from CC

Did you wake up with a small alien in your pocket after bombing around in a spaceship in the future for an hour?

Watch something with James May in, have a few beers then take it to bits and try to fix it

May be something as simple as a dirty lens.

Can you get to it and clean it with a cotton bud soaked in Isopropyl alcohol?

I ripped all my CDs by 2005 but I did keep them. IfI wanted to play them now I’d rip them to disk or just stream them.

Find out which drug addict burgled it. Ask him to take it back to it's rightful owner.

There should be a 12 month warranty.

Ii dropped off some unwanted items in a charity shop the other week and ended up buying a Sony TV for the bedroom £30 as new with a six month guarantee

I haven't been in a Cash converters for years but used to work opposite one which always had a wide array of musical equipment and instruments in the window and I once even saw DJ Brandon Block heading out of there counting some wonga.
The old bill were also frequent visitors.
